Creating new markets from disruption

13 Jun 2019 12:00 - 14:00

Venue: London TBC. Host firm receives complimentary places

Presenter: Paul English,  Global Leader – Markets & Clients, Grant Thornton

In the context of disruption and the 4th industrial revolution, how do new markets evolve and what can your organisation do about it?

In this workshop we will explore key concepts on strategy and innovation from some of the world’s leading thinkers and consider how they can be applied to your firms and your markets.

Please be prepared to be as interactive as possible in order to ensure each delegate gets the most out of the session with one of our sectors leaders.

Paul English has a particular focus on Strategy and Innovation and is currently involved in post-graduate study in this field at the University of Oxford and at the D-School at Stanford University. A further area of interest is sustainable development and his firms' global CSR agenda. This involves working with key partners including Impact 2030, in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In other roles, he is on the Advisory Board of Spiranti, a new innovation ecosystem for professional services and serves as a Trustee for Stripey Stork, a charity which collects new and pre-loved items for babies and children and distributes them via health professionals to local families in need.

Paul's responsibilities at Grant Thornton include Brand, Marketing and Client Experience. The role covers a wide range of global priorities, from brand strategy through to enhancing the firms' digital presence, transforming their marketing processes and improving client experience around the world. These areas require extensive collaboration with talented colleagues from across the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific.

He supports Middlesbrough FC, has had a short play broadcast on BBC radio and is in the Sports Hall of Fame in Nova Scotia Canada for winning the national football (soccer) championship in the '90s.
