Birketts shortlisted for two Cambridgeshire Digital Awards

Leading East of England law firm, Birketts, has been named as a finalist in two categories at the inaugural Cambridgeshire Digital Awards, which recognise and reward innovation and progressive thinking across the county. The law firm’s marketing department has been shortlisted for its ‘Use of Social Media for Business’ and ‘Use of Video for Business’.

Matthew Rowe, PR and communications manager commented: “To be a finalist in two categories is fantastic news. It is particularly pleasing to receive the recognition for our animated corporate video which has now received over 800 views since it launched at the end of July. With an extensive hard copy portfolio of promotional material we wanted to produce content that was easily shared and positions us a forward-thinking law firm. We were fortunate enough to work with Fovea Communications who guided us through the process and the feedback internally and from the marketplace has been very positive.”

He continued: “Professional services firms are often seen as out of touch with the world of social media. However, we have seen substantial growth in the level of engagement on both LinkedIn and Twitter during the last financial year. Our followers on LinkedIn increased by 35 per cent and on Twitter by 38 per cent during this period. A number of dedicated LinkedIn groups and Twitter accounts were also set up to promote core service lines and increase social interaction and internal guides have been written and shared throughout the firm to build stronger social communities. As a consequence we saw our Social Authority score double.”

Janet Rudge, business development director at Birketts, added: "For the marketing department’s work to be recognised in this way is a great achievement. Matthew Rowe, who led both initiatives, joined Birketts 18 months ago and has set out a very clear strategic approach to our digital marketing, against which the team has delivered first-class results.”
