Pinsent Masons appoints Melanie Grimmitt as Head of New Client and Markets Group

Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed energy partner Melanie Grimmitt as head of the firm’s new Clients and Markets Group as it seeks to accelerate its multinational sector-led approach in the wake of rapid global expansion.

Formerly global head of the firm’s energy sector, Melanie Grimmitt is a Leeds-based partner specialising in transactional construction and recognised for her work on large-scale energy projects. Joining the firm in 1999, she was promoted to partner in 2008 and has advised a number of high-profile clients including E.ON, EDF, Orsted and RWE.

Managing partner at Pinsent Masons, Laura Cameron, said: “Melanie’s experience in developing cross border client relationships throughout her time at Pinsent Masons, in particular during her tenure leading our global energy sector, will be an asset as we double down on our strategic focus on multinational clients and our creative and innovative approach to legal and professional services.

The Clients and Markets Group will be instrumental in ensuring we are aligned to the needs of our clients, connecting our people, sectors and skill sets to capitalise on the opportunities that our thriving multinational network presents.

Working alongside Melanie, the Client and Markets group will bring together a team of senior legal and professional services specialists to support on the delivery of strategic goals including practice group heads, global sector heads, regional senior representatives, the firm’s Head of Business Development and Marketing, Chief Technology Officer and the Head of Strategic Planning.

Over the last decade Pinsent Masons has increased its network to 27 offices operating across 29 locations. In recent the years the firm has advanced its Europe Middle East and Africa network launching in  Amsterdam ,  Luxembourg  and has established a representative office in  Abu Dhabi . Furthermore, the firm has recruited high profile teams in Madrid, Johannesburg, and Germany in the last year.
