A roadmap to more effective business development

A roadmap to more effective business development

Wed, 27 May 2026 12:30 - 14:30

Venue: FRP Advisory Trading Limited, 110 Cannon Street, London, EC4N 6EU

Limited Virtual Places Available

Business development in professional services is often ad hoc and the responsibility of the few. For business development to happen consistently and achieve results, your firm is likely to benefit from a structured approach.

This not only creates focus but also makes the subject less intangible and less ad hoc to involve more people, more consistently and deliver improved business outcomes.

In this interactive session, Joanna Gaudoin (ClientWise – helping you get the clients you want and the results you need) will walk you through a structured approach to business development.

Joanna will share in depth her framework “The 5 Ps of Proactive Business Development©” which will help you consider what gaps your firm currently has in its approach to business development, including the required mindset and skills.

Together, we will take time to reflect on and discuss the ‘Ps’ so you leave not only energised about business development but have something tangible to share with your teams, so they consider what action they need to take.

Think of this framework like a roadmap to better outcomes from business development.

Workshop 1

"Beyond the Click: Using Personas and Data to Drive Strategic Value"

Limited virtual places available

Most professional services firms are sitting on a goldmine of data, yet most marketing teams remain stuck in the "Reactive Trap." They report on email opens or event attendance while massive cross-sell opportunities go unnoticed because the data lacks a human lens.

In this session, we strip away the jargon to show you how to move from tracking clicks to understanding clients.

We’ll explore how defining Audience Personas allows you to move beyond one-size-fits-all marketing. By connecting the dots between your website, email, and CRM, you can create a Total Engagement Score that maps directly to your firm’s key personas. Using examples, we’ll demonstrate how these insights allow you to build variations in the digital experience.

What You’ll Walk Away With:

  • The Blueprint: How to translate data into actionable audience profiles that dictate content strategy.
  • The Power of Variation: How modern web experiences allow you to adapt the digital experience based on user behavior and intent.
  • The Language of Partners: Learn how to use a Total Engagement Score to prove ROI and surface revenue opportunities before they leave the building

Discovery building a pipeline that actually converts

Discovery: building a pipeline that actually converts

Thu, 25 Jun 2026 12:30 - 14:30

Venue: Edwin Coe LLP, Lincolns Inn, 2 Stone Buildings, London WC2A 3TH

PSMG is delighted to be collaborating with Edwin Coe on a series of high level workshops

Workshop 2

" Discovery: building a pipeline that actually converts"

Limited virtual places available

Most law firms don’t have a pipeline problem. They have a clarity and discipline problem.

This 90-minute session cuts through the noise and focuses on what actually drives revenue. No overengineered CRM theory. No vanity metrics. Just practical ways to build, manage and convert a pipeline that works in the real world of busy lawyers and BD teams.

We will cover five core areas.

  • How to build a simple, usable pipeline that people will actually engage with.
  • The relationship between marketing, BD and sales and where things typically break down.
  • How to track and progress a lead from first touch to instruction without it falling into the void.
  • What good pipeline discipline looks like day to day, including the non-negotiable of following up every lead. No exceptions. No “I thought they weren’t interested”. Never die wondering.
  • And finally, how to measure the right things, moving beyond activity to outcomes and revenue.

Along the way, we will challenge a few sacred cows. Why most activity should be stopped. Why conversion matters more than volume. And why a handful of people in your firm already hold the answers.

Expect practical frameworks, honest observations, and a few uncomfortable questions you can take straight back to your team.
