WEBINAR Host: Simmons & Simmons

LAST CHANCE TO BOOK!

Lawyers, accountants and actuaries are all trained from an early age to be risk averse. The most innovative firms in the world have a culture where failing fast is a regular part of business and a move into new and unchartered (risky) territory can be seen as a competitive advantage.

This juxtaposition presents challenges in establishing an innovation mindset within a law firm. What are the incentives for thinking about things differently? How do you encourage trial and error when every six minutes needs to be accounted for? What approaches can be adopted to challenge the accepted way of doing things?

Join Lee Curtis , Head of Sales, and Sam Stamp , Head of New Business at Simmons & Simmons , who will share their thoughts on these challenges and the approaches they are taking to foster an innovation mindset within Simmons.

Salespeople In a law firm Whatever next

Salespeople? In a law firm? Whatever next!

Tue, 30 Mar 2021 12:00 - 13:00

WEBINAR Host: Simmons & Simmons

The word sales evokes a range of emotions. Within the legal industry it is often considered an activity undertaken by other industries and something that is beneath the esteemed legal profession. As a result the sales mentality, tools and infrastructure in place across the legal industry is woefully inadequate.

With the entry of new players into the legal market and the proliferation of more commoditised legal services it is clear that this situation has to change.

Join Lee Curtis , Head of Sales at Simmons & Simmons, for a discussion on his new role in establishing a sales culture and the opportunities and challenges this brings.

The Art of Influencing

The Art of Influencing

Wed, 31 Mar 2021 12:00 - 13:00

As business services professionals we are often required to persuade and influence the lawyers, accountants and consultants we work with. Sometimes it is an easy sell - with others it can seem we are swimming through treacle.

Being able to influence is a skill. As with all skills it comes more easily to some than others. That doesn’t mean it can’t be taught.

Claire Rason, founder of Client Talk, is going to explore the way we can use questioning and active listening to influence.

This course is ideally suited to Heads of, or Directors, who need to influence and affect change within the firms they work for. It would also suit those looking to step up into these roles.

Talking Heads: Never let a good crisis go to waste

Thu, 10 Jun 2021 10:00 - 11:00

Host: Myddleton Communications

This is a senior roundtable discussion - By Inviitation only!

"Never let a good crisis go to waste". The origins of the quote are unclear, but there is speculation that Winston Churchill said it at a meeting with Stalin and Roosevelt.

As we hopefully come out of lockdown, we have a unique opportunity to learn from our experiences and transform our practices to be match fit for the post-Covid world.

This month’s Talking Heads  are Paul Smith and Philip Rodney , respectively the former chairs of Eversheds Sutherland and Burness Paull who will discuss a number of topics including.....

  • How do we make the purchase of legal services more like the Amazon experience?
  • Will GCs choose their lawyers differently?
  • How do law firms engage with a new generation of clients?
  • What does it take to build meaningful partnerships with our clients?
  • What can we learn from other sectors?
  • How will the firm of the future look?
  • How smaller firms can eat the lunch of their competitors.
  • Going to market as one firm and and one brand, with silos behind the veil.
  • The importance of trying new things

FREE Webinar To hybrid or not to hybrid Returning to the Office

FREE Webinar: To hybrid or not to hybrid? Returning to the Office

Thu, 24 Jun 2021 11:00 - 12:00

WEBINAR Host: Totum Partners

The past year changed almost all areas of our working lives but, like many across the professional services sector, Totum is ready to look to the future. In March 2021, the recruitment firm conducted an in-depth survey of professional services firms on hybrid working and their planned return to the office

Totum wanted to find out what working policies, if any, firms had in place for their return to the office (anticipated from June) and to what degree they will be adopting hybrid working policies (defined as formally splitting each week into days working from home and days working from the office).

The key takeaway is that the vast majority of firms do not anticipate a return to pre-Covid office normality. But as future working policies top the agenda among professional services firms, what will the future workplace really look like?

Totum's Tim Skipper, Laura McNair and Carly Hubbard, Head of HR, Travers Smith will explore key themes that have emerged from Totum’s survey and its many virtual meetings over 2020/21 with firms on their plans to return to the office.

The constantly changing vendor landscape in Client Development amp Intake

The constantly changing vendor landscape in Client Development & Intake

Wed, 10 Nov 2021 12:30 - 13:45

Webinar Host: Gatehouse Chambers

This is now a virtual seminar - Please note new timings

Over the last 3 years we’ve seen huge changes in the vendor landscape and advances in the technologies available to target, win and onboard clients. Firms have understood that there is a greater need to understand the value that clients gain from the services that they deliver and that success is measured more in terms of the feedback that clients provide than in purely financial performance metrics such as profit, leverage and utilisation.

This more client-centric view of firm management is having a dramatic effect on the strategies for system deployment, integration, data management and reporting. Firms are looking to re-engineer processes to ensure that they capture the right information at the right time and get it in to the hands of those that need it, to better serve their clients.

Why law firms need to change their approach to thought leadership

Why law firms need to change their approach to thought leadership

Wed, 17 Nov 2021 12:00 - 13:00

Webinar Host: Source Global Research

The thought leadership published by professional services firms—including law firms—is hugely influential, and in the aftermath of the pandemic, this is truer than ever.

Senior executives aren’t just using content to inform themselves about trends in their own areas, but to learn about areas they are less familiar with, with the aim of influencing their peers and colleagues.

Any firm that can understand how its buyers use thought leadership and the types of content they are interested in, and then capitalise on that is likely to find itself standing out in what is becoming an increasingly competitive space.

PSMG would like to invite you to join us on Tuesday 18th January 2022 when Ben Kent, Silvia Grigoroiu and Jonathan Litterick of Meridian West present “All you need to know about Client listening''.

Most professional firms are reasonably good at gathering feedback data on their clients. Those who discover and respond to client needs quickly have a competitive advantage, but client listening programmes can fail to communicate and improve the frustrations and experiences of clients.

Meridian West is presenting best practice in using technology to capture and analyse data, to deliver feedback intelligence, and deliver a best-in-class client experience.

In this interactive session we will provide a practical guide to developing a client listening programme, including:

Virtual Seminar

LAST CHANCE TO BOOK!

Due to ongoing government guidelines this seminar will transfer to online - please note the revised timings

Relationships are the lifeblood of professional services firms and getting feedback from clients should be central to all marketing efforts. Most firms do have either a formal client feedback programme or are in the habit of gathering ad hoc data at critical points in their journey.

Getting feedback from clients has risen in importance with Covid. The situation for clients is constantly changing and what they need from their advisors is in constant flux. It has never been as important to make sense of this qualitative data fast. However, this has been something that firms have in the past struggled with, and as programmes grow it becomes increasingly difficult to read across data sets.
