What does it take to deal with so much in the marketing mix such as CRM, client journey, new business development, targeting, pricing, social media, advertising, messaging, training all under one hat and with limited resources?

Ilka Clune is the firm’s Director of Marketing and Business Development and a member of the Management Committee and is responsible for all marketing and business development at the firm. Her background includes 15 years of in-house roles (including heading up the Business Development team for eight years at an international firm) as well as 5 years holding consulting roles in Europe and around the Gulf.

Ilka is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Certified Coach. She joined Venner Shipley in 2018.

Claire Farrelly is Head of Marketing and Business Development at Forsters, one of the leading real estate and private wealth firms. She has previously worked for Savills, Berwin Leighton Paisner (now BCLP), PKF and CBRE. During her 20 year career Claire has worked across the full spectrum of professional services including accountancy, legal and real estate. She has a broad range of skills covering all aspects of BD and marketing; pitch strategy, digital, internal and external communications, strategic marketing planning, CRM and branding. She is CIM qualified and holds Chartered Marketer status.

Whilst at Forsters she has undertaken a range of projects including a full scale rebrand and launch of a new website, introduced social media as a communications tool, established a clear pitch process (with associated documents and templates) and has supported the use of strategic PR whilst setting up a multi-skilled team. She is currently working on the development of a client listening programme, spearheading a website refresh project as well as seeking to introduce pitch automation software
