Job Description

This role, based Tokyo, will be responsible for enhancing and developing the key client relationship the firm has at global, regional and local level at this leading international law firm.

This will be achieved by working on the following programs:
• Global key client program
• Local key client program
• Client care review program
• Firm annual and regional meetings

The individual will be responsible for proactively implementing and executing these programs and initiatives, by holding internal and external team meetings, liaising closely with the client (if necessary), and seeking out new and innovative initiatives that add value to service that the firm provides to clients.

The candidate will also be expected to lead and support day-to-day BD activities and events, which may or may not involve the key clients. Tasks will also include pitch/proposal creation, research, analysis, and execution of ad hoc projects and initiatives.
They will liaise closely with the regional and global teams to be in alignment with the firm’s global strategy, and respond to requests for information in a timely manner
Translation of some Japanese and English internal and external content may be necessary, in accordance with the candidate’s skillset.

The candidate must be a good-listener, as well as have strong analytical skills to convert feedback into positive change. The individual should also possess a strong business sense and understand what the client's requirements are from a commercial perspective in order to effectively run the business development department.

The candidate should also possess strong leadership skills to manage various team members on different projects. As a senior member of the team, this individual is expected to make decisions and manage and guide subordinates on an as-needed basis. They will step in as needed in the absence of the Chief/Director on occasion. Experience in the legal sector is highly desirable.
