Glad's House Charity - Fundraising Events Calendar for 2010
PSMG are delighted to continue to support Glad's House Charity by bringing you news of their Fundraising Events Calendar for 2010.
The main focus for Glad's House this year is a capital appeal to raise money to build a reintegration centre. The charity has recently purchased land in Mombassa for the building of a self contained, fully fitted and equipped residential reintegration centre to help more of the children.
There are an estimated 250,000 ‘street children’ in Kenya with around 35,000 in Mombassa alone. The street is their home: a place where they try to work, eat and sleep while trying not to fall victim to drugs, crime, violence and HIV/AIDS. Their plight is desperate. The resources of the volunteers helping them are utterly inadequate.

Mar/Apr Training Glad’s House Caddies in Mombasa with the European Tour Caddies Association.
April Grand Draw – prize draw for 7 nights stay in Kenya for 2 persons.
This would include return flights, 4 nights on safari and 3 nights at the beach. £100 per ticket (limited to 500 tickets? tbc)

25th August “Football in the City” at Spitalfields Market London

30th Sept - Coastal Kings under 13’s team visit UK for a week of football.
7th October Sponsored by Elstree School (Woolhampton, near Reading) in conjunction with TourAid.
Late Nov “Legends” Dinner at Pennyhill Park. Joint event with Touraid.
Early Dec Legends from the world of Rugby, Football, golf and boxing hosting a fundraising dinner in aid of both charities.

Glad’s House is a registered charity (No: 1115744) whose aim is to work with the street children of Mombasa, Kenya, some of whom are as young as 3 or 4 years old. Life for them is a bleak struggle for survival, where drugs, alcohol and crime are often the only means of escape.
