Behind every great website is a great strategy. Precedent’s, Mark Sherwin looks at what constitutes an effective web strategy, focusing on 5 components:-
-
relating your website to your business objectives
-
meeting the needs of your visitors
-
understanding the competitive environment
-
connecting with the right resources and capabilities
-
responding to emerging trends.
Mark will use examples from sectors as diverse as Financial Services, Education and Charities to illustrate core principles, before examining more specifically what these mean for Professional Service firms and their web strategies.
Attendees will go away with a useful framework for reviewing their firms' web strategies, specific ideas that can deliver and the inspiration to start looking at their websites as revenue generators rather than just a cost to the business.
Mark Sherwin, Precedent’s Business Development Director has 15 years experience in the digital media arena, 13 of which have been at Precedent.
Recently he has directed projects for The London Stock Exchange, the consolidation strategy for the Cabinet Office’s 65 websites and web strategies for Insight Investment and The Royal Bank of Scotland.
He regularly presents at Precedent’s own seminar series and has trained students at the Chartered Institute of Marketing on how to work with agencies and also trained agencies in Northern Ireland on how to deliver effective digital services. Mark is currently completing an Executive MBA at The Cass Business School, where as well as more traditional activities he has provided on the ground digital communications consultancy to a major Vietnamese architectural practice.
