A not too distant research report conducted by CIM and Cranfield School of Management investigated the hypothesis that Marketing had failed. The learned conclusion was – No, it hadn’t failed; it hadn’t yet been tried.
REAL Marketing, a rarity outside the fast-moving-consumer-goods area, will be coming to Professional Services soon, as competition increases. Over the next 10 years, the industry will be split between those professional services firms who understand that clients really are the most important people in the business – and those who would rather die than change.
Dr Paul Fifield advises companies on Marketing Strategy and has written widely on the subject and has served as external examiner as well as senior examiner at the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
He holds a degree in Business Studies as well as an MBA and a PhD in Marketing Strategy, both from Cranfield University. He was elected a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) in 1988, elected a member of CIM Council 1999-2001 and the CIM International Board of Trustees 2002-2004.
Paul is currently Visiting Professor at the University of Southampton and the College des Ingénieurs in Paris, President of the CIM Southern Region and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce (FRSA).
