This is Part 2 of a 2 part seminar programme. Attendance at this session is not dependent on Part 1.
If you want results, start with your content – this is the main thrust of the second part of the seminar by Precedent’s Emily Cootes and Lindsay Herbert.
Every page of your website has the power to elicit action from your users and generate return on investment. Whether it’s connecting with new clients, promoting your services or making the sale, it’s what you say and how you say it that makes the difference between a successful website and one that just looks the part. Web content specialists, Emily and Lindsay will bring some insightful and entertaining examples of the best and worst practices in professional services writing – along with a series of practical, targeted approaches to transform your content today.
Emily Cootes is a leading strategist and content specialist at Precedent. Having led a number of high-profile projects with clients including the RSPCA, Investment Management Association and Crimestoppers, she has extensive experience of producing web and online publishing strategies, content generation plans and information architectures. Drawing on her background in communications and her work in international development, she is now helping our clients to understand and communicate effectively with their increasingly global audiences. Emily runs our writing for the web training courses and is responsible for Precedent’s online publishing, content and copywriting services.
Lindsay Herbert a former journalist, is a strategy and content expert at Precedent. Having directed projects for major clients including the Intellectual Property Office and Heriot-Watt University, Lindsay specialises in helping organisations develop communication strategies that are targeted to right customers, in the right markets, at the right time. A professionally trained writer and photographer, Lindsay also runs Precedent's writing for the web training, and leads the company's online publishing and content services. Lindsay’s work includes developing content roadmaps, publishing strategies, tone of voice guidelines, creative concepts for interactive games features, and user-focused site information architectures.
